Become an Exceptional Family Member Respite Care Provider


Child Care Aware partners with the U.S. Navy to provide EFM respite care to military families with children with special needs. U.S. Navy families may be eligible to receive 40 hours a month of respite care.

Eligibility


U.S. Navy families are eligible for EFM Respite Care by meeting the following criteria:

  • The Sailor is active duty or Reserve on active duty orders
  • The Sailor is currently enrolled in the Navy’s Exceptional Family Member Program.
  • The Sailor has a child currently residing with him/her, enrolled in EFM (birth through 18 years of age and assigned a category four (4) or five (5).
