Your Story, Your Impact: Crafting an Outstanding Teaching Portfolio

 

This is an intermediate training. This training will offer opportunities for providers to utilize new information and apply it to their environment. Some elements of this training may be learning facts and applying them to your classroom. Providers may be encouraged to evaluate their practice in the classroom to make improvements related to the content. 

This is a 1-session in-person training.  This training is on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. at ELC of Duval – Southside Office.

This training was written using the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate F(ADDIE) model. The learning objectives for this training are:

  • Participants will understand the purpose and essential components of a professional teaching portfolio.
  • Participants will develop foundational skills to organize and present teaching materials, philosophies, and achievements in a polished and professional format.
  • Participants will create a working draft of a teaching portfolio that reflects their personal teaching philosophy, instructional practices, and professional growth.

Training content will be delivered through lecture, small group work, and discussion. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, collaborate on portfolio components, and provide peer feedback, culminating in a draft portfolio section.

Participants will be required to complete Pre and Post Surveys, an Implementation Plan (IP) and an Overall Training Evaluation.

 

.6 IACET CEUs will be awarded for this 1-session training. Participants must arrive on time. If you arrive 10 minutes after the start time, you will be allowed to attend the training but will not receive any credit. If you are not in the assigned training room ten (10) minutes before the start of the training, someone "on standby" may take your reservation. To receive IACET CEU credit for the training you must attend 100% of the session, actively participate, satisfactorily complete the (IP) and submit the IP by the deadline. 

Any individual who displays any symptoms of respiratory illness is NOT permitted to enter any ELC office and will not be allowed to attend the training. Those symptoms are:

 Cough

 Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

 Chills

 Repeated shaking with chills

 Sore throat

 Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than 100.4 F

This training is designed for Preschool Teachers, Family Child Care Providers, Directors and Owners.
