This is a 1-session ONLINE training.  This online training is on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. thru ZOOM.

This is a beginner/intermediate training. Some of the content may fall into either category. Beginner level trainings will cover beginner level elements of childcare and development. This training is ideal for new teachers or providers who want a refresher on child development elements or basics in childcare. Time will be spent learning facts and grasping the meaning of common terms in child development. Intermediate level trainings will offer opportunities for providers to utilize new information and apply it to their environment. Some elements of this training may be learning facts and applying them to your classroom. Providers may be encouraged to evaluate their practice in the classroom to make improvements related to the content.

You will receive a reminder email 3-5 days before the training date that will include a ZOOM link to access the online

training.

You cannot take this class on your cell phone. 

You must have access to a reliable internet connection, a computer or a tablet with a webcam and a microphone.

You must have a working email address for yourself and be able to check your email regularly.

You cannot use the same email as a coworker or friend who is taking this class.

You cannot share computer equipment. Each person is required to have their own email address and their own computer or tablet to access the training. A microphone is required for discussion in this training.

This training was written using the ADDIE training model.  The learning objectives for this training are:

(1) Participants will define the importance of developmentally appropriate practices as it enhances engagement through learning styles and modalities.

(2) Participants will explain why using different modalities will enhance learning styles as it relates to CLASS.

(3) Participants will categorize activities that meet the needs of different learning styles.

This training is 100% ONLINE. Training content will be taught using lecture, small group work and discussion.

Participants will be required to complete Pre and Post Surveys, an Implementation Plan (IP) and an Overall Training Evaluation.

 .5 IACET CEUs will be awarded for this 1-session online training.  Participants must be on time for this online training. If you attempt to login to the online training 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, you will be denied access. The training will be closed.

To receive IACET CEU credit for the training you must be present for 100% of the session, actively participate, satisfactorily complete the Implementation Plan (IP) and submit the IP by the deadline.

This training is designed for Infant Teachers, Toddler Teachers, Preschool Teachers, Directors and Family Child Care Home Providers.
