ONLINE TRAINING: Social Emotional Learning in Childhood

This is a 1-session ONLINE PILOT training.  This online training is on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. thru ZOOM.

You will receive a reminder email 3-5 days before the training date that will include a ZOOM link to access the online

training.

You cannot take this class on your cell phone. 

You must have access to a reliable internet connection, a computer or a tablet with a webcam and a microphone.

You must have a working email address for yourself and be able to check your email regularly.

You cannot use the same email as a coworker or friend who is taking this class.

You cannot share computer equipment. Each person is required to have their own email address and their own computer or tablet to access the training. A microphone is required for discussion in this training.

This training was written using the ADDIE training model.  The learning objectives for this training are:

  • Participants will gain an understanding of the core concepts of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and recognize its significance in early childhood education.
  • Participants will Identify and explain the five SEL competencies while exploring effective ways educators can implement them.
  • Participants will Discuss the importance of fostering a positive classroom and school environment to support the integration of SEL practices.
  • Participants will Discover tools to assess SEL development in early childhood settings and learn strategies to apply evidence-based practices that promote long-term success while avoiding common challenges.

This training is 100% ONLINE. Training content will be taught using lecture, small group work and discussion.

Participants will be required to complete Pre and Post Surveys, an Implementation Plan (IP) and an Overall Training Evaluation.

AT LEAST .3 IACET CEUs will be awarded for this 1-session online PILOT training.  Participants must be on time for this online training. If you attempt to login to the online training 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, you will be denied access. The training will be closed.

 

To receive IACET CEU credit for the training you must be present for 100% of the session, actively participate, satisfactorily complete the Implementation Plan (IP) and submit the IP by the deadline. This is a “pilot” training –additional CEUs may be awarded based on the amount of time spent completing assignments or Implementation Plans.

This training is designed for Infant Teachers, Toddler Teachers, Preschool Teachers, Directors and Family Child Care Home Providers.
