The Early Learning Coalition of Duval is accredited as an International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET) provider. To register for IACET trainings, click on the yellow events below.

In Person – Keeping it CLASSy with Infants

 

This is a 1-session in person training.  This training is on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at ELC of Duval – Southside Office.

This is a beginner training. Beginner trainings will cover beginner level elements of childcare and development. This training is ideal for new teachers or providers who want a refresher on child development elements or basics in childcare. Time will be spent learning facts and grasping the meaning of common terms in child development. 

You will receive a reminder email 5 days before the training date that will address and instructions for the training. Another reminder will be sent 12-24 hours before the training.

Any individual who displays any symptoms of respiratory illness is NOT permitted to enter any ELC office and will not be allowed to attend the training. Those symptoms are:

 Cough

 Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

 Chills

 Repeated shaking with chills

 Sore throat

 Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than 100.4°F

 

This training was written using the ADDIE training model. The learning objectives for this training are:  1) Participants will review the Infant CLASS domain and dimensions. 2) Participants will discuss effective strategies to implement the Relational Climate dimension in their classroom. 3) Participants will discuss effective strategies to implement the Teacher Sensitivity dimension in their classroom. 4) Participants will discuss effective strategies to implement the Facilitated Exploration dimension in their classroom. 5) Participants will discuss effective strategies to implement the Early Language Support dimension in their classroom.

 

This training is 100% in-person. Training content will be taught using CoP (Communities of Practice) protocols, lecture, small group work and discussion. Participants will be required to complete Pre and Post Surveys, an Implementation Plan (IP) and an Overall Training Evaluation.

.6 IACET CEUs will be awarded for this 1-session in person training.  To receive IACET CEU credit for the training you must be present for 100% of the session, actively participate, satisfactorily complete the Implementation Plan (IP) and submit the IP by the deadline. Participants must be on time for this in-person training. If you show up more than 7 minutes after the scheduled start time, you will be denied access. The training will be closed.

If you are not in the assigned training room seven (7) minutes before the start of the training, someone “on standby” may take your reservation. To receive IACET CEU credit for the training you must attend 100% of the session, actively participate, satisfactorily complete IP and submit the IP by the deadline.

This training is designed for Infant Teachers and Family Child Care Providers.
