Back-to-school season is here, and whether your little learner is gearing up for VPK or taking the exciting first step into kindergarten, the ELC of Duval has gathered events and resources to help make the journey smoother! Every great school adventure starts with a little preparation, a lot of curiosity, and perhaps a backpack that’s bigger than its owner!

Enrolling Your 4-Year-Old in VPK

Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) is Florida’s free prekindergarten program for 4-year-olds residing in Florida. VPK gives children a jump start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. Children who complete a quality VPK program arrive at kindergarten better prepared than those who do not attend a prekindergarten program.
